The Dutch Store

Dutch Store is a concept redesign of an old-school website for a store focused entirely on Dutch food products. The goal of this project was to give the existing brand a modern refresh, while still respecting its original identity.

We reused and refined the original color palette, giving it a new home that meets WCAG AA and AAA accessibility standards. By improving contrast and hierarchy, the website became more readable and inclusive without losing its recognisable character.

To modernise the experience, we introduced a new illustration style. Together with a classmate, I designed custom illustrations that guide users through the website in a bold yet gentle way. These visuals help structure the content and make navigation more intuitive.

A strong focus of the project was usability and consistency. We created a set of reusable components that help users easily find their way through the website, resulting in a clear and structured user flow. The final outcome is a concept website that feels contemporary, accessible and playful, while staying true to the original Dutch Store identity.
